I know that everyone is wondering and I’ve also been asked several times how the trip to Mayo went, so here we go. Â The long and the short of the story is we have had Jess’s current treatment validated by one of the best hospitals in the country.
At this time she is either on the best or has tried and cannot tolerate the best medication they have for her condition.  The doctor spent a lot of time with us and really took the time to understand what was going on.  The only thing new we found out is the doctor believes that the migraines since the wreck are the same migraines Jess has had since she was diagnosed at the age of two. It’s his belief that the trauma of the wreck has just caused them to manifest differently and in a more aggressive way.
We were treated exceptionally well while at Mayo and the doctor was exactly what we wanted, he was very thorough, attentive, and honest.  Since Jess’s migraines have no known triggers there is really no other treatment options for her right now.
From here we are going to try some dietary changes and supplements that the doctor recommended. Â The things we are going to try represent no risk to her and does not require the supervision by the doctor at Mayo. Â Coming into this we knew that we may not find out anything new. Â However sometimes a second set of eyes and validation of what you are already doing can be a comfort too.
We thank you all for your prayers and concerns.  Just because we didn’t find a medication or treatment, we are not going to stop trying to make Jess’s quality of life better.  For as bad as things are now she is so much better than in the months immediately after the wreck. For now we are just going to keep on trying what ever we can and stay on top of her care.
Thanks for the update Jake. We know that there is a great healer, Jesus, who can make all things new of Jess. I will continue to pray for her and you. Love you and appreciate all you do for the Lord.
