Well I think enough time has passed and all the professional announcements have been made so it’s time to let everyone else know.
As you may recall a few years ago we announced that we’re moving about 905 miles that way <- well we are doing that again but heading back the other way. I’ve accepted a newly created position in the company and we will be locating to Valparaiso, IN area later this year. My company has been blessed with huge organic growth in the last few years and as such we needed to add an additional territory and they wanted someone seasoned to run it. I will still be doing the job I have today (Director of Relationship Management) but with a completely different mix of larger customers as such I’m looking forward to some new professional challenges.
You may ask Jake, isn’t Valparaiso, IN the home of Orville Redenbacher? Why yes it is, apparently my moves for professional reasons have a corn theme at this stage in my career. Valpo (as most people call it) is in the far Northwest part of Indiana, the only part that’s still on central time, this is mainly because the area is so economically tied to Chicago.
As a perk of the move we will only be 7 hours from WV instead of the 15 we are today, and since Valpo is only an hour from Chicago we have access to two hub airports for cheap flights. We can go and visit Jess’s family in NC for only $100 each way or there about.
I’m currently training my replacement and will do so for a couple of more months so we can have a clean hand off of my current customer base.  Towards the end of training my replacement I’ll begin be commuting to IN and splitting my time. I’ve enjoyed my time in Nebraska and the employees I’ve worked with, but its time for a new hill to climb.
