Greetings & Salutations Faithful Stapleton Blog Readers! Although with my frequency of updates the faithful bit might be a stretch. It has been almost a year since my last update, so I thought it was time to sit down and do a post for posterity’s sake. So lets take a walk through memory lane since my last update. The 15th Anniversary
July 24th, 2014 marked the 15th Anniversary since the Spousal Unit said yes to marry me in front of other people and everything. Â To celebrate I took her to see her Royals play in Kansas City, I try to get her to at least one game a year.
As always to celebrate this momentous day I will update the famous paragraph below as is tradition, post our yearly anniversary picture, and never take for granted the love that God has blessed us with.
So after 2 houses, 3 rentals, the cars going to the body shop 13 times, 2 BA degrees, 1 MA degree (plus many more hours in certifications), 10 computers, 2 beds, 6 TV’s, 10 DVD players (this statistic has come to a halt since we switched to AppleTV’s), 12 jobs, 9 cars, 3 surgeries, 1 major wreck, 3 washers, 2 dryers, taking in Petey & Phoebe, 1 half cross country move, we’re still together so it must be love.
The 13th Anniversary
July 24th was our 13th Wedding Anniversary. As always to celebrate this momentous day I will update the famous paragraph below as is tradition, post our yearly anniversary picture, and never take for granted the love that God has blessed us with.
So after 2 houses, 2 rentals, the cars going to Graley’s Auto Body 13 times, 2 BA degrees, 1 MA degree (plus many more hours in certifications), 9 computers, 2 beds, 6 TV’s, 10 DVD players (this statistic has come to a halt since we switched to AppleTV’s) , 12 jobs, 8 cars, 3 surgeries, 1 major wreck, 2 washers, taking in Petey & Phoebe, 1  half cross country move, we’re still together so it must be love.
The Mayo Clinic, Key West, & Back to School
Greetings and Salutations Faithful Stapleton Blog Readers!
As usual it’s been too long since the last update so let’s see what has been going on. I’ve been working and traveling quite a bit as usual, also working through some changes going on at work (nothing to worry about but a whole bunch of extra stuff to do). Jess has finished her second year of teaching and is still loving it. With the added benefit of not getting riffed (Reduction In Force Notification) so we knew she had a job at the same school all summer long. (That was a nice change)
In June we referred Jess to the Mayo clinic in Jacksonville to see what else we could do for her headaches. Unfortunately we learned there is nothing more we can do right now, but we are still looking for other options. To say that the trip was a downer would be an understatement, but we at least came out of it with a validation of her current course of treatment. As we got back into town on June 22nd we heard the sad news that Jess’s paternal Grandmother passed away rather suddenly. We then spent the rest of the month attending to family needs.
July was just a blur between work and vacation. However we did treat ourselves is year to a trip to Key West. It was beautiful as you can see from the pictures below.
Plus there was a 12th anniversary to celebrate in July as well!Â
August was quite busy as well. My customer conference for work was early than usual this year. I took on some extra responsibilities and was onsite the entire week. August came pretty early for Jess as well she had to report back to school on August 10th (I believe a great historical figure was born that day, oh that’s right me!). Then school started full speed on Monday the 15th. However Jess’s students weren’t the only ones not happy about school starting.
All in all pretty normal, red blooded American in fly over country kind of stuff. As always Jess and I hope this entry find you and yours doing well.
Until next time, that’s the news and I am outta here!
Christmas, Snow, and another 4.0
Greetings and Salutations Faithful Stapleton Blog Readers!
It’s time for another gripping update of what is going on with the Stapleton Family.
First, as you can see from the posting, the Stapleton Family blog has moved to a new website stapletonfamily.us That’s right Jake has started another bloody website.
Why? Because he can.
All the “Family postings” have been exported out of jakestapleton.com and imported into stapletonfamily.us, as this site will now become the central repository of all the Stapleton family updates. Jakestapleton.com will now revert back to content that he deems worthy to publish, however Jake’s political opinions will still reside at jakesopinion.com
How many domain names do you own?
Well that’s a good question. I own the domains mentioned above, jakestapleton.me, and a few other classified ones as well. The only one that I have been unable to get a hold of that I really want is jessicastapleton.com and that’s because a dude in CA is holding on to it for his daughter. Oh well one day he’ll forget to renew it.
Enough web talk. Lets talk about the Stapleton Family.
December
December started out innocently enough until we had the water leak in the basement. This ended up being a mess as you could well assume. The pipe was hidden so well that superman would have had trouble locating it with his x-ray vision. So between clearing out the storage area, finding the leak, repairing the leak, putting the carpet back down, my business travel, Jess’s finals, and Christmas, December was just a blur.
Don’t take me wrong, we had a nice Christmas and got to spend some time with the family, but December was just a blur. We didn’t even get that many pictures this year, but the good ones (and the ones I am allowed to publish) are below.
My walking brain box completed her fall semester at Marshall with another stellar 4.0 GPA. We are happy to say that she is taking the spring and summer off from Marshall to get rested up and caught up on all of her other work.
January
January was a busy month, I spent most of it in Elkins, WV working with a client on a huge project. The project went well beyond all my hopes in spite of the weather. (There were snow drifts around my car every night at the hotel.) When I wasn’t in Elkins during January, I was calling on customers elsewhere. Jess spent January in a state of “I only have to work and no school” bliss. That was until the migraines came, starting in mid January she had a migraine everyday for about 30 days going into February. This is the worst stint she has experienced in a very long time. We are looking at some other options for her and exploring doing some referrals during her summer break.
Jess and I hope this posting finds you and yours doing well.  That’s the news and we are outta here!
