<\/p>\nRecently I completed a lossless re-rip of the entire CD collection and got me thinking about the difference in generations. I’ve tried music services and in the end I never keep them, its because my music is just that mine. Its my carefully curated playlists, its my distinct sorting of the music, its my incredible amazing and accurate album\u00c2\u00a0art.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Now lets talk about my 18 year old niece, she will and does use services for most if not all of her entertainment. \u00c2\u00a0She will enjoy and curate a collection as well.<\/p>\n
But when the licensing ends the collections go with that and she has nothing. \u00c2\u00a0With streaming music services, Netflix, etc you’re essentiality leasing content for as long as its available to the service. \u00c2\u00a0Call me old fashioned but I believe if you want something you buy it! Once you take control of your media, no service can take it away its yours. \u00c2\u00a0In the end its why I continue to buy media I want to keep and control my own destiny.<\/p>\n
No epiphany here, just something that was on my mind as I was doing my project.<\/p>\n
